The athlete Luiza Gega has today presented a gold medal to Albania in the Mediterranean Games "Oran 2022".

Gega performed another phenomenal performance as he also set a new national record with a time of 9:14.29, thus improving the result of a month ago of 9:15.48 that he had achieved in Hengelo, Holland. This is Luiza Gegë's second gold medal in a row at the Mediterranean Games.

Meanwhile, as the record-breaking athlete climbed the podium to receive the gold medal in Algeria, an unpleasant episode was recorded, as the wrong anthem was played in the background and not the one of Albania. The Albanian team waited until the organizers fixed the blunder and played the national anthem of Albania.
