The benefits of Superior's clubs, the champion receives nearly 1.5 million euros in bonuses

Albania has a weak football, proven by the position held by our main league in the ranking list of UEFA member countries. Of course, the position of the Super League of Albania in this ranking is the 47th place among the micro-states out of 55 member countries. In the region, only Macedonia and Montenegro are ranked lower than our Superior. For comparison, Kosovo, which has only been a member of the official sports bodies in Europe and the world for a few years, holds the 32nd place, i.e. 15 positions better than Albania. This shows that Kosovar football has made progress. This is best proven by the performance of the Balkan team during the last two seasons, where it went twice in a row to the group stage of the Conference League. Positioning in the ranking has to do with the number of teams that qualify in Europe and the round where the participating clubs start the competition. The higher they start, the higher the net profits. In this context, the benefits of our teams are big for the conditions in which Albanian football operates, but they are not of a high level like the teams that start directly from the second or third pre-eliminatory round. But UEFA does not only give money for its competitions, it also rewards the teams that win the championship in the respective country.

Benefits of trophy winning teams

Comparisons should be made with the benefits obtained in recent seasons by Albanian teams. Partizan, champion of Albania, managed to reach the "play-off" stage of the Conference League, where it was eliminated by the Kazakhs of Astana. From the European experience of the last edition, the red club secured 1 million and 410 thousand euros from the rewards awarded by UEFA. However, with the new bonus distribution system for clubs, Partizan's profits would be 1 million and 710 thousand euros. Due to the low ranking of the Albanian championship in the general UEFA classification, our teams all start their participation from the lowest level of competition qualifiers (Champions League and Conference League). The winning club of Superiore plays in the first qualifying round of the Champions League. The winner of the Albanian Cup and the clubs that finish the championship in second and third place, start their competition in the first qualifying round of the Conference League. Meanwhile, if we make a comparison with Kosovo, due to the fantastic results achieved by the Balkans in the European Cups, the Kosovar championship will be represented this year with a club in the European League. So, the higher the position in the UEFA ranking, the bigger the coefficient and the more financial benefits come from international competitions. For many of our clubs, the benefits of participating in Europe are the best source for the following season, as it is known that our clubs have a modest budget and are far from European clubs that have many times higher incomes. This season, Egnatia from Rrogozhina has the most chances to earn more from participation in Europe and the trophy of the country's champion.
