Lionel Messi 'abandons' football: I am realizing my dream, the children are looking forward to it

Soccer star Lionel Messi to star in his own animated TV series has agreed to a deal with Sony Music Entertainment. The project will be part of Messi's post-football adventure after he retires from the sport.

Messi has revealed that the opportunity to be in an animated series is one of his "dreams".

Currently in development, the series will portray Messi as "a child who faces obstacles while traveling through a video game" and will feature original music by Sony Music artists and composers.

The new series will be available in English, Spanish and other languages.

"Since childhood, I have always loved animated series and my children are big fans of animated characters ," said the Argentine soccer star in a statement.

"Being able to participate in an animation project makes me happy because it fulfills one of my dreams. I want to thank Sony Music for joining this project and we hope that the result will be liked by everyone, especially little girls and boys" , said Leo.
