This popular spice known as 'magic dust', sick people should not use

Supplements and spices with healing properties have become a part of everyday life, but it is necessary to follow the instructions for the correct dosage as well as the negative effect in certain diseases.

One of the most popular on the list of "magical powders" is kurkuma (turmeric).

Turmeric has the ability to increase the activity of the gallbladder in order to expel stones in the bile ducts, which can be dangerous.

It is recommended only for those who do not have gallstones, because then it can prevent their formation. It is not recommended for those with gallstones.

Also, pregnant women should consult a doctor before use.

Researchers say it's important to report side effects when taking natural preparations, like the one described in the American Journal of Medical Case Reports.

Regarding the dosage of turmeric as a supplement, there is not a complete agreement among doctors. Most often, between 500 and 1,500 mg per day for three months is recommended for osteoarthritis and, for example, for dry and itchy skin, 500 mg three times per day for two months.

Turmeric has very few other known side effects; and those that do exist, are very rare and generally light.

In any particular case, consultation with a doctor is necessary.
