Not every food can be put in the refrigerator, the expert reveals

Abdyl Sinani, food technologist, was invited to the show "In our house", where he talked about food and how we should store it in the refrigerator.

The expert shows which foods should be put in the refrigerator, so that they do not spoil.

"Products such as tomatoes, potatoes, onions, bananas and avocados should always be stored at room temperature, so they should not be refrigerated. Bread has two properties when it is bought, it should not be put directly in the fridge, as it loses its nutritional value, if you are going to store it for a long time, you should put it in the fridge only after 24 hours", said Sinani.

But he adds that freshly cooked beans should never be refrigerated because they lose their flavor and nutritional value. "In the beginning, we have to pre-cool them to room temperature", he suggests.

When asked if we should put the products in the refrigerator washed or unwashed, the expert said: "Vegetables should be put as they are, we should not wash them to put them in the refrigerator, since if we put them washed they stick to their humidity. Melon, for example, should be put in the refrigerator as it is without washing it."

Regarding the meat and its expiration date, according to him, imported meat should be put in -18 degrees in the refrigerator, since if it is stored at 14-15 degrees, it has lost its nutritional value.

"Before being slaughtered, the animals must rest for 24 hours because they must conserve their energy. After slaughtering them, we must leave them at a temperature of 4 degrees", added Sinani.
