A Martinican soccer player and his partner were recently arrested at Roissy airport in France with more than 100 kg of cocaine hidden in their suitcases.

The footballer, who was placed in handcuffs by the French police, is 29-year-old Jean-Manuel Nedra, midfielder of the Martinican team, Aiglon du Lamentin.

The news was confirmed by the football club itself, which distanced itself from the case in question and said that the mission of the sport is to educate young people about the dangers of drugs.

"Without knowing the extent of his involvement, we learned that one of our players was arrested in Roissy for drug smuggling," Aiglon du Lamentin said in a brief message to the local press.
