Tragedy in Greece, shocking details come to light: The head of the station did not know how to use the local remote control system. One day he forgot the microphone was on and…

Other complaints come to light regarding what happened at the Larisa station, as well as the station operator's habits during working hours. Citizens have shown a case of an image of chaos, where the manager of the station had openly forgotten the microphones from which announcements were made inside the station and therefore music and conversations could be heard.
According to a STAR report , citizens are complaining about what was happening in the station hall a day before the fatal head-on collision of two trains. "It was like being at a festival," says a resident of Larissa, describing the image of February 27.
"The gentleman who makes the announcements was very happy. Twice he forgot the microphone, the second time he forgot it for a longer time", said another resident of Larissa, hinting that the station manager was not careful.
When the citizen was asked what the station manager was saying, the first one answered: "He was having a conversation with the person next to him. The security guard ran over to tell them to turn off the microphones.”. Meanwhile, another serious denunciation comes about the manager of the station, who is said not to know how to use the local remote control system. According to investigations, his mistakes appear to have played a decisive role in the Tempi train crash that killed 57 people.
According to Christos Retsinas, Larissa station manager, Vassilis Samaras, "did not know how to use the local remote control system of Larissa and how to automatically map a route".
As he explained to ERT; "Alstom delivered the system in question in 2022 and it works perfectly. In it, there is a "black box" that records the movements made. The operator of Larissa did not know how to use it, since the previous days from 22:00 there is no registration". Vassilis Samaras was on night shift for five consecutive days at the Larissa station before the fateful night. The second element that, according to Mr. Retsina, shows that the Larissa stationmaster, who is already in prison for his involvement in the train crash, did not know how to use the local remote control of Larissa, are his movements with the suburbs, specifically with train 2597 before the accident of the train, but fortunately he caught this case in time, turning the vehicle back.
