The body of a person buried in Mouriki, Viota in September 2022 was found and identified after a year.

According to the DNA analysis, it turns out that the body belongs to 46-year-old Ilir Rrasa, who escaped from prison.

The citizen originally from Elbasan was sentenced to 15 years and 2 months in prison, as well as a 30 thousand euro fine for drug trafficking.

It is learned that the dead body was found buried in a ground, while the sewage workers were working to open an underground pipeline near the village of Mouriki in Thiva.

During the detailed check, an identity card with Albanian nationality was found in the victim's pocket, where it was later established that he was an escapee from the prison of Patra.

The police authorities took biological material from his brother in Athens, which was identified with that of the victim. The police of Thiva continues the investigation to identify the perpetrators who buried him at the scene and whether it is a criminal offense or not.
