Tensions in the North, Vucic speaks from Moldova: The Kosovo delegation refused to meet

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said that the Kosovo delegation did not want to meet with the Serbian delegation at the summit of the European Political Community in the Moldovan capital, Chisinau - where Kosovo is represented by President Vjosa Osmani.

"It was not approved by other leaders. The situation in Kosovo, together with Ukraine, became the main topic of the meeting of the European Political Committee. "Serbia always wants talks and it seems to me that now it is clearer who is responsible for the violence in Kosovo," Vucic told reporters.

Asked when he expects a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, he said that he does not know.

He said that the reduction of tensions in the north of Kosovo and the establishment of guarantees to avoid unilateral actions were the main topics during his meetings with the president of France, Emmanuel Macron, and the chancellor of Germany, Olaf Scholz.

The meetings took place on the sidelines of the European Political Community summit in the Moldovan capital, Chisinau - where Kosovo is represented by President Vjosa Osmani.

"After that, we should focus on the establishment of the Association of municipalities with a Serbian majority in Kosovo, which was signed ten and a half years ago with the Brussels Agreement. I believe that people now have a clearer picture of what is happening, regardless of whether their countries recognize Kosovo or not," said Vu?i?.

He added that a lasting compromise solution is needed.

"We have to convince people in the Balkans that compromise is not a bad thing. It is not easy, everyone is radicalized and no one wants to listen to normal ideas", said Vucic.

Addressing reporters in Chisinau on the sidelines of the European Political Committee summit, Vucic mentioned that he also had a brief informal meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

"I met with a man who does not recognize the independence of Kosovo", Vucic said, adding that he and Zelensky discussed the territorial integrity of Serbia and Ukraine.

"He told me, as I told him, that we support the territorial integrity of our countries. It was a very short meeting, I can't tell you more than that", said Vucic.
