Tensions in the north, the presidency of Kosovo reacts immediately

 After the situation in the north has worsened, a reaction has come from President Vjosa Osmani's chief of staff, Blerim Vela. Vela shared a video where a car can be seen burning while writing that the criminal structures of Serbia have received orders to escalate the situation on the ground. It is learned that the burned car belongs to a Kosovo police officer.

"Serbia's illegal and criminal structures in the north of Kosovo have received orders to escalate the situation on the ground. "Peaceful" protesters using hybrid and violent actions against law enforcement. Violence will not prevail. Serbia bears full responsibility for the escalation" - he writes.

What is happening in the north of Kosovo?

At noon today in the 4 municipalities with Serbian majority in the north of Kosovo, alarm sirens were heard, where citizens also gathered in front of the municipal facilities in Zubin Potok, Zveçan and Leposavic. The situation worsened as gunshots were heard, tear gas was thrown by the police to disperse the protesters who also burned cars.

This protest is being done as a sign of revolt by the Serbian protesters against the new Albanian mayors elected in the four municipalities with a Serbian majority.
