Scandal in KFOR/ Soldiers buy drugs, exchange uniforms for cocaine

The Kosovo Force, or KFOR as it is popularly known, is a NATO-led international peacekeeping force in Kosovo. KFOR entered Kosovo on June 11, 1999.

At the time, Kosovo was facing a severe humanitarian crisis, with military forces from Yugoslavia operating against the Kosovo Liberation Army. Nearly 1 million people had left Kosovo as refugees by that time, while 10,812 Albanians were killed or disappeared by Serbian forces, the cause of one of the biggest genocides in Europe since the Second World War.

Currently, 27 countries contribute to KFOR, with a combined force of approximately 4,811 military and civilian personnel.

KFOR has had some hiccups during their mission in Kosovo, where the most flagrant case is the separation of Mitrovica from the French.

The most recent case was on June 16, in the fierce clashes between Serbian protesters and the Kosovo police. The 9 journalists were raped by the Serbs, while some of them asked for the help of KFOR, which left them at the mercy of fate.

The piranhas will enter another world, the unknown one, where some KFOR soldiers seem to have established illegal connections with drug dealers and do everything to secure their daily doses of cocaine and marijuana.

Journalist Eraldo Harlicaj has established contact with a drug dealer who works with KFOR soldiers and managed to document everything with videos, conversations and images.

The distributor meets the Armenian soldier several times at the KFOR base near Pristina airport. He has even taken the business to another level, as he gives oil, military jackets, food and water in exchange for cocaine.

The soldier and the dispatcher had left the meeting place and schedule for the exchange, but the car's lights scare the KFOR soldier into retreating. However, drug addiction brings him back to the conversation with our distributor and finally the jacket is taken in exchange for drugs.
