Lawyer Tomë Gashi commented on the situation created recently in Kosovo, where dozens of protesters have gathered in front of municipalities with a Serbian majority and oppose the newly elected mayors who were sworn in yesterday to be in charge of these municipalities.

In an interview for Euronews Albania, he said that the protests are directed by Serbian President Aleksandër Vucic.

He further added that their goal is to have Serbian municipalities under control, but according to him this will not happen.

"It is happening between Kosovo and parallel structures directed by Serbia. This is the consequence of yesterday as it was the swearing in of the new presidents. Now the government of Kosovo is trying to take the facilities and they think they will fire the Serbian employees. These are directed by Vucic. These situations are because they did not participate in the elections last month. They are foreseen riots. Perhaps this is a prelude to greater unrest that may occur in the coming days. Their ultimate goal is the community of municipalities with a Serbian majority, but it will not happen as Vucic envisions," he said.
