"Every time Belgrade violates the agreement, the referee does not blow the whistle"/ Albin Kurti speaks to the Austrian media and reveals Serbia's plan

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, in an interview with the Austrian newspaper  Der Standard,  said that the West is continuing the policy of appeasement towards Serbia.

Speaking about the elections in the north, he has said that he does not want Albanian mayors in the north - as they currently are, as according to him, they have little political legitimacy due to low voter turnout, despite stressing that they are completely legal.

Kurti added that Belgrade wants territorial compensation for the loss of Yugoslavia.

"I have been to the north several times and met the Serbs, but these meetings are not made public because people are looking for me. Their families are under pressure. A Serb I appointed as an advisor resigned after two hours because his wife immediately lost half his salary. This year alone, 15 cars with Kosovo license plates were burned in the north," Kurti said.

While speaking about the last meeting in Brussels, he said that he wanted to sign both the framework agreement with Serbia and the proposal for the Association, but according to him, Vucic wanted Serbia and Kosovo to sign separately with the EU.

"I don't want to normalize relations with the EU, but those with Serbia. Vucic also requested an article stating that Serbia will not recognize the independence of Kosovo, that Kosovo will not have a place in the United Nations and that Serbia will not accept the territorial integrity of Kosovo. The negotiators asked me what I thought about it. I said the referee should blow the whistle if there was a breach of contract. Whenever Belgrade violates the agreement, the whistle is not blown. Can you imagine a referee who has lost his whistle and now just follows the players? This probably has to do with the policy of appeasement. But because the West is so soft on Serbia, it is paradoxically pushing it towards Russia, even though the opposite is intended. Because Belgrade has more love and fear towards Moscow than Brussels", said Kurti.

Kurti said that Serbia has a similar attitude towards Kosovo as Russia has towards Ukraine. However, according to him, NATO-led KFOR troops are stationed in Kosovo - and this, according to Kurt, was undoubtedly a decisive factor for Serbia not to invade on September 24.
