The new mayor of Zveçan, Ilir Peci, told the media that he is currently inside the facility of this municipality.
He said that it is the first day of his work and he is exercising his function as mayor, while Serbian citizens have gathered to oppose his entry into the municipality.
Peci said that everything is under control, while also confirming the removal of the Serbian flags from the municipality facility.
"Yes, I am currently in the mayor's office, that is, in the Municipality building. Well, everything is under control at the municipal facility. Except all symbols are removed, they are removed from the office here. At the moment there is not much, the first attempt saw more until the Special Unit came and everything was fixed. The situation at the moment is very calm in the municipal building. The police are continuing their work. Yes, they are in the building, in their work, I in my work as mayor in my office", said Peci.
