After putting Kosovo's 'shoulders against the wall' for the tensions in the north, Macron today meets with President Osmani

The French President, Emmanuel Macron, together with the German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, will talk today with the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, and the Serbian President, Aleksandër Vucic.

The meetings will be organized before the summit of the European Political Community in the Moldovan capital, Chisinau.

These meetings will be held separately between the French president and the German chancellor with the leaders of Kosovo and Serbia.

For the escalation of the situation in the north of Kosovo, the French president has put all the responsibility on the authorities in Pristina.

"There is a clear responsibility of the Kosovar authorities in the current situation and a lack of respect for an agreement that is important and was closed a few weeks ago," he said.

The United States has criticized Kosovo for escalating tensions with Serbia, even canceling the country's participation in a NATO military exercise "Defender 23", after the government refused to withdraw its mayors and police forces from the north of country.

Serbs in the north started protesting on Friday (May 26). Protesters have used violence against members of KFOR, Kosovo Police and journalists.

They threw various objects at the peacekeepers, while they also attacked the media

As a result of the violent protests, 30 KFOR soldiers were injured, while the Serbs also attacked the Kosovo Police and journalists.
