After the rains, Italy is hit by powerful storms, the flood situation worsens

Rain accompanied by thunderstorms hit the Brescia area on Wednesday afternoon. In an hour and a half, the areas of Caino, Nave, Concesio in Val Trompia were affected and the roads turned into mud streams.

In Rezzato, the embankment of the canal also collapsed and two parked cars ended up in the canal, fortunately without injuries.

In the city, there were major disruptions in traffic due to some flooded underpasses. Several trees have fallen on parked cars in Brescia.

Even between Castel Mella and Flero there was a severe hailstorm. City and state roads turned into rivers of water and mud, underpasses flooded. Firefighters worked throughout the afternoon and night with Civil Defense using water pumps to clear the roads and at least restore the road system.

For several days, Italy has been engulfed by bad weather that has caused thousands of damages and thousands of families have been evacuated.
