20-year-old Gerasimos-Iason Georgiadis was the first citizen who managed to survive the infamous tragedy of the fatal collision of two trains in Larissa, Greece.
The young man found salvation by jumping out of the window of the carriage after the train was engulfed in flames.
However, the crash on the ground gave him a fatal blow and numerous head injuries.
Georgiadis has had two operations on his head, but to no avail as his health condition has worsened.
Next to them is the whole community of Volos, praying for him.
Indicative of the wave of love and support for the young student who is fighting for his life are the dozens of messages he receives on his Facebook account with wishes that he manages to emerge healthy from this difficult battle.
