The new measures are expected to enter into force in Kosovo
Written by SOT.COM.AL 30 Nëntor 2021
The Ministry of Health of Kosovo, in a government meeting has proposed some anti-COVID measures to prevent the pandemic. It is learned that 'Health' has proposed that every person entering Kosovo should have a full vaccination certificate or a one-dose immunization certificate, not older than four weeks, along with a negative RT-PCR test for COVID- 19, not older than 48 hours.
"Some new measures will be proposed by the MoH to the Government, based on the epidemiological situation and the risks that may come from the Omicron variant, and they are expected to be approved soon and must be implemented by all. "Implementation of measures with correctness and vaccination are currently the way to be followed to prevent the deterioration of the situation", said the Ministry of Health.
As for the curfew, it will continue from 00:00 to 05:00, while the citizens will continue to wear masks.
"Public and private institutions are obliged, as well as other entities, to keep hand sanitizers and a quantity of masks in accessible places at the entrance of the building as well as inside the premises." - says the Ministry of Health.
According to the MoH, public and private institutions, as well as other entities are obliged to place visible signs of the rules of conduct for protection from COVID-19 at the entrance of each building, including the sign prohibiting entry into the building without masks, respecting distance.
Also, the heads of public and private institutions and other entities are obliged to carry out disinfection and ventilation of enclosed spaces.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Health told Express that they will propose new measures to the Government based on the epidemiological situation in the region. According to them, these measures are expected to be adopted soon and implemented by all.
Health experts have warned of a worsening pandemic. Two Austrian health experts, Stefan Thurner and Peter Klimek in an article published in "DerStandard", said that Kosovo has already passed its fourth wave, but according to them, I can pay a high price for the pandemic.
“Në fund të gushtit, kur incidenca në Austri ishte ende mjaft e ulët në rreth 140, me një mesatare shtatëditore prej 1000 rastesh për milion banorë, atje numëroheshin më shumë infeksione se kurrë më parë. Shembulli i Kosovës tregon kaq qartë.
Countries in the region, such as Albania, Macedonia, Serbia and Montenegro, are recording high rates of COVID-19 infections. A worse situation is being presented by countries like Germany, the Netherlands and Britain. We recall that Kosovo is recording low rates of COVID-19 infections, although the situation in the region is completely different. During the last 24 hours in Kosovo, 8 new cases and 1 victim were registered after several days in a row when there were no fatalities.
