The former American diplomat reveals the message of the USA that is hidden behind the exclusion of Kosovo from "Defender Europe"

The former US Assistant Secretary of State, Daniel Fried, said that the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, had reason to be angry with the actions of the Government of Kosovo, regarding the situation in the north.

Fried says that the Government's actions made matters worse and that KFOR and the United States were forced to deal with the consequences of those actions.

"I think the United States intended to draw the attention of the Kosovo government and its citizens, which means they were seriously angry. And I think they had reason for that. I know Secretary Blinken, I have known him for 30 years. He is a wise person. I think, and as far as I know, he had reason to be angry with the actions of the Kosovo government. These actions made things worse and KFOR and the United States were forced to deal with the consequences of these actions," said Fried.

Excluding Kosovo from the largest military exercise "Defender Europe", Fried says it was a way to tell Kosovo that you cannot create unnecessary problems for the United States and then walk away from responsibility, Express reports.

Asked about other measures that can be taken against Kosovo, the former American diplomat said that he would prefer the Government to withdraw.

"I don't want to speculate. I would prefer that the government of Kosovo find a way to withdraw", said Fried, in an interview for the Serbian-language service of the Voice of America.
