Greece elects new prime minister to serve until second term (name)

The formal meeting under the President of the Republic of the political leaders of the parties that managed to enter the Assembly in Sunday's elections lasted only half an hour after the process of investigative orders proved fruitless. The chairman of the Court of Audit, Ioannis Sarmas, who will go to the Presidential Palace at 13:00 to receive the order for the formation of the interim government, will take office as Prime Minister.

This development paves the way for the informal start of the pre-election period for the June 25 elections, which will officially start next Monday after the dissolution of the Assembly, as a result of the May 21 elections.

"The President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou will receive today at 13:00 at the Presidential Palace the Chairman of the Court of Audit Ioannis Sarmas, in order to appoint him, in accordance with article 37 par. Sec. 3 of the Constitution, the formation of a government, with the widest possible acceptance, in order to hold elections".

According to the information, during the meeting, the personnel of the interim government was discussed without putting names on the carpet. According to the same information, there has been collusion in the faces of the foreign and defense ministers, as Turkey will have a government after the elections in the neighbor on Sunday. The information states that people with a long mandate will be appointed to the diplomatic corps.
