The Vienna Economic Forum, Albin Kurti, raises concerns about Belgrade and appeals to the West: More pressure is needed on Serbia for an agreement

The Vienna Economic Forum, Albin Kurti, raises concerns about Belgrade and

The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has addressed his concerns towards Belgrade, at the Vienna Economic Forum.

The agreement with Serbia must be signed, and for this reason, he demands that more pressure be exerted on Belgrade.

"In Brussels we reached the agreement, we added the implementation annex in Ohrid, but then Serbia refused to sign, and we had attacks against KFOR soldiers, then the kidnapping of Kosovo policemen, and the subsequent attack where the sergeant was killed ours. The escalation occurred despite the agreement, which was not signed. Serbia is our biggest neighbor, the border is about 300 kilometers, this constitutes a security risk, more pressure is needed on Belgrade for an agreement", he said.

According to the Prime Minister of Kosovo, signing the de-facto recognition is the first and most important step. In his speech, Prime Minister Kurti also stated that there has been economic development and that Kosovo is not a big country, but it is a good example.

"We all need economic growth. I have to mention the three main challenges that have occurred, the first is security threats, the second is social inequality and the third is climate change. During these years that I have been in power, we have managed to add 1 million euros to our economy every year. Also, inflation has fallen this year, in January it was 12%, and it fell last month to 3.3%," said the head of the Kosovo government.
