Members of the NATO peacekeeping mission, KFOR, take their positions in Zveçan.
The NATO military alliance has increased its presence in the north of Kosovo, inhabited by a majority of Serbs, after the tensions caused by the entry of the Albanian mayors into the municipal buildings: Zveçan, Zubin Potok and Leposaviq.
At exactly seven o'clock in front of the Municipality facility in Zveçan, the protesters started to sign, justifying the action that "they are not allowed to enter the municipality facility".
It is the sixth day of protests in the north. The Serbs are opposing the exercise of the duties of mayors in three municipalities in the north, from municipal facilities.
Tensions have accompanied the protests for several days, while recently the protests have been replaced by insults and provocations.
Yesterday, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, emphasized that Kosovo Serbs are constantly under pressure and threats to perform actions against their will.
Minister Sveçla wrote on Facebook that after the conditions to participate in protests and organizations led by Lista Serbe, protesters today are being forced to sign their participation in the protest.
Meanwhile, the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, and the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, exchanged accusations about the tensions in the north of Kosovo, before meeting in the presence of several European leaders in Chisinau, Moldova.
