What happened? Vucic resigns as head of the SNS party: From tomorrow I will

Vucic said that the opposition politicians who organized protests after the two massacres in Belgrade and its surroundings "deserve only contempt". Vucic said this at a rally organized by his party as tens of thousands of people protested at the invitation of the opposition in recent days, unhappy with the government's response to the mass killings that rocked the country.

"I invite to conversation and dialogue those politicians, about whom I think the worst. From tomorrow, my door is open for each of them, to solve the problems in the institutions of the system", said Vu?i?.

He added that problems are not solved on the highway, alluding to two previous civil protests, where tens of thousands of demonstrators blocked the highway at the Gazela Bridge in Belgrade. According to him, "those politicians were not interested in children", but how to "remove me from power".

"I invite you to talk, but there will be no transitional government. The government will be chosen in the elections", said Vucic.

Vucic said that after the massacre at the "Vladislav Ribnikar" elementary school in Belgrade and in the surrounding villages of Mladenovic, the Government of Serbia has implemented a series of measures to reduce violence. Vu?i? said he was speaking for the last time as SNS chairman.

"For eleven years, I served my country and people with faith and loyalty. I was the chairman of the Serbian Progressive Party for eleven years. Tomorrow, someone else will take over my Serbian Progressive Party, yours, ours," said Vucic.

He said that "some wonderful people" will take over the party from Saturday and that from June 28 they will start forming the Movement for the People and the State. The Foreign Minister of Hungary, Peter Szijarto, also addressed those gathered in front of the People's Assembly. He said that Hungary and Serbia are exposed to attacks because their leaders "want peace in Ukraine, fight for family values ??and do not want to serve foreign interests."

"They will attack us, because they cannot accept that we Hungarians and Serbs follow our national interests and be successful", said Szijarto.

The rally is being held in the same month that 18 people were killed in two mass killings in Serbia. The suspects were arrested and confessed to the crimes. In response, the government increased school security and called on citizens to surrender their weapons to the police, without consequence. The Minister of Education resigned.

In the protests, the opposition presented demands, among others, for the resignation of the Minister of the Interior, Bratislav Gashiq, and the director of the Security and Information Agency (BIA), Aleksandar Vulin. Earlier, Vucic described those protests as the politicization of the tragedy./REL
