Vetëvendosje Movement has lost the local elections. Yesterday, the second round of municipalities was held in the runoff, but the most losing party was that of Prime Minister Albin Kurti. Vetëvendosje lost Prishtina and many other municipalities. The only large municipality gained from it is Gjilan. Prishtina was won by Përparim Rama of LDK. Rama received 40 thousand 658 votes, or 51.07% of the votes. While Arben Vitia of VV received 38 thousand 958 votes, or 48.93% of the votes. While Mimoza Kusari Lila suffered a deep defeat in Gjakova. After counting the ballots, VV candidate for mayor of Pristina, Arben Vitia has admitted defeat in this election. Through a press conference, Vitia said that Prishtina already has a new mayor, Pëprarim Rama. "Pristina already has a new mayor, and he is Përparim Rama. I thank the activists of VV and the citizens of Prishtina, also Mr. Rama… I wish Pristina success and all the best. Personally, VV and I will be arms in every process that is in the interest of the citizens. "We will do our best for Pristina," he said. The leader of LDK, Lumir Abdixhiku, also wished victory to Përparim Rama. "We will take care of Pristina with full care. "Progress with his team will serve as a leader for everyone", said Abdixhiku. Rama told reporters that he vows to be the chairman of all. "The emotion of this victory can not be described in words, this is a victory of every resident without distinctions. I, Përparim Rama, mayor of Prishtina, promise that I will be the mayor of everyone who works and lives here ", said Rama. PDK won in Kaçanik. Besim Ilaz of the Democratic Party of Kosovo received 53.20% of the vote. Meanwhile, his opponent from Lëvizja Vetëvendosje, Jeton Raka received 46.80%.

Electoral process

 At 19:00, the voting in the second round of local elections closed, elections which were held in 21 municipalities, ie 66% of polling stations in Kosovo. The second round was held in all those municipalities where none of the candidates managed to collect 50 percent of the total votes of that municipality, plus one more vote. Vetëvendosje Movement (LVV) competed in 12 municipalities: Prishtina, Prizren, Gjilan, Shtime, Gjakova, Rahovec, Fushë Kosovë, Podujevë, Kaçanik, Obiliq, Viti and Kamenica; Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) in nine municipalities: Prishtina, Gjilan, Viti, Vushtrri, Istog, Fushë Kosovë, Dargash, Podujevë and Junik; The Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) ran in eight municipalities: Drenas, Kaçanik, Shtime, Vushtrri, Malisheva, Prizren, Dragash and Klina; The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) competed in five municipalities: Gjakova, Klina, Rahovec, Junik and Istog; Whereas, the NISMA Social Democratic party was in the runoff only in the Municipality of Malisheva. Meanwhile, after the completion of the process, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission, Kreshnik Radonicci has announced that according to preliminary data, until 19:00 the turnout was 475,751 out of 1,260,571 citizens, or 37.88% of those who had the right to vote.
