Gazment Bardhi vows, 'explodes' badly at Berisha: If he continues as DP chairman in 2025, he will end his political career as an MP

If the official seal of the Democratic Party goes to Sali Berisha, Gazment Bardhi says he is prepared to end his political career as a deputy in 2025.

Invited to a TV show, he said that in such circumstances he will continue to be a simple member of this party.

Bardhi: I will continue to be in DP, there is no discussion. I don't join any movement for anything new. DP is the party that gave me the status of General Secretary and I will always support, vote and work for DP. Of course, if Mr. Berisha will be the chairman of DP and candidate for prime minister in the elections of 2025 or whenever the next general elections are, I will end my career as a representative of the Democrats in the Assembly of Albania, continuing to contribute as an ordinary member common in PD. I close it with my free will. I stand by the things I said about how I see the future of DP, so that Albania has a future through DP.

Asked if he would be willing to sit face to face with Sali Berisha to find a formula for unity for the May 14 elections, he answered:

Bardhi: I sit with anyone, I have no worries when it comes to finding a solution in the interest of DP, democrats and Albania. We sat down with Mr. Berisha, we held 2-3 meetings at the beginning almost a year ago in the parliamentary group. A meeting lasted about 9 hours.
