In a reaction on Facebook, Oerd Bylykbashi says that the DP Assembly put an end to the autocracy of the president and strengthened the democracy of the members.
It is further stated that the National Council made a historic statutory decision by opening voting in the primaries to supporters of the Democratic Party.

Courage to win
On December 11, 2021, in the grand Assembly of the Democratic Party, we sanctioned for the first time in Albanian politics the selection of candidates for parliament and municipality through primary voting. With that act, we ended the autocracy of the chairman and strengthened the democracy of the members.
Today, the National Council made another historical statutory decision, opening voting in the primaries to supporters of the Democratic Party. To those citizens who support the Democratic Party with their hearts and votes in these 31 years, even without having the membership. In 31 years, this is one of the biggest and boldest steps to reform politics. Today, not only the member but also the citizen is empowered.
On one side there is Rama's autocracy that appoints candidates and his own do not vote, on the other side stands the PD that courageously opens up to the citizens to overthrow Rama and his regime and bring about change. The chorus of naysayers today must be silent before this bold step of democracy!
