Journalist Lavdrim Lita commented on Euronews Albania, the arrest of the former mayor of Durrës, Vangjush Dako, and his electoral weight within the Socialist Party.
Lita described Dako as an electoral champion with a very large weight in the Durrës area.
According to him, Dako's exit from political life significantly weakens the SP in this area, since 70% of the structures were run by him and his people.
The journalist also added that two other electoral champions who ensure the victory of the Socialist Party are Tom Doshi in Shkodër and Aqif Rakipi in Central Albania.
"Vangjush Dako is an electronic champion. It's a name that I wanted to give them because studying their electoral record, these are people who bring victory to the Socialist Party. Vangjush Dako, Aqif Rakipi and Tom Doshi are the 3 most powerful organizers of the Socialist Party on the ground.
If these electoral champions do not exist, they are excluded from politics, the majority and the opposition fight with equal means. Dako's own power and being in the municipality has laid concrete in Durrës since 1997 until today and you understand the network of honors and favors he has created. I say with conviction that the SP in Durrës has collapsed, it is commanded by Dako. If we remove Dako from the equation, PS must be reorganized as it does not exist, it is on the same level as PD. This also happens in Shkodër and in central Albania with these electoral champions", said Lita.
