Sipas SPAK, Mediu së bashku me zyrtarë të tjerë të Ministrisë së Mbrojtjes dhe funksionarë ushtarakë shqiptarë kanë vepruar në kundravajtje me ligjin për demontimin e armëve luftarake dhe Vendimin e Këshillit të Ministrave të datës 14 mars 2007 për “Për proçedurën e trajtimit te armëve, teknikës dhe pajisjeve të Forcave të Armatosura, të hequra nga armatimi dhe përdorimi, përsa i përket shitjes për çmontim dhe çmilitarizim të një sasie municioni”. Ata kanë nxjerrë akte nënligjore në kundërshtim me ligjin dhe VKM e sipërpërmendur duke “dëmtuar interesat e ligjshme të shtetit dhe kanë sjellë avantazhe të padrejta për shoqëritë ‘SAC inc’ (Southern Ammunition Company Inc, administrator Patrick Henry dhe Albademil sh.p.k. Në 20 shkurt, gjyqtarja e GJKKO Irena Gjoka u përcaktua me short si gjyqtare për të gjykuar dosjen “Gërdeci” pasi kolegu i saj Erjon Çela u tërhoq nga procesi për konflikt interesi, pasi në 27 korrik 2021 vendosi kundër riçeljes së hetimeve për “Gërdecin” ndaj Mediut. Në vendimin e tij, gjyqtari arsyetoi se SPAK apo dhe Prokuroria e Përgjithshme kanë pasur kohë të mjaftueshme (2021 deri në 2017, kur u vendos ngritja e SPAK) për të kërkuar rinisjen e hetimeve, madje pa patur nevojë për autorizim nga Kuvendi për heqje imuniteti ndaj Mediut, për shkak të ndryshimeve ligjore në 2012. Çela shtoi se janë shkelur afatet e parashkrimit. Pas këtij vendimi, SPAK e ankimoi vendimin në shkallën e Apelit të GJKKO.  Në 24 shtator 2021, Apeli i GJKKO u shpreh në favor të SPAK për rinisjen e hetimeve.
