Tensions in the North, comes the reaction of PDK after Kurti's statements

After the statement of the Prime Minister of Kosovo, who stated that he will support the new mayors in the north until the end, the democratic party of Kosovo also reacted.

She stated that Prime Minister Kurti is jeopardizing relations with the USA and, according to her, he should immediately change his approach.

"The head of the Democratic Party of Kosovo expresses deep disappointment for the uncoordinated actions of the Government of Kosovo with the strategic allies of our country, which have already begun to result in direct punishments, after Kosovo was excluded from the largest international NATO exercise s in the Balkan region, "Defender Europe 2023". This exception is a concrete sign of the deterioration of Kosovo's relations with the USA and NATO and is a warning of other consequences, if the Government of the Republic of Kosovo does not start to behave responsibly.

Likewise, the Presidency of the Democratic Party of Kosovo strongly condemns the violence of criminal groups directed against KFOR members, but also the Kosovo Police, and especially against media representatives, who have been hindered and attacked in the performance of their duties in the service of informing citizens.

The members of the Presidency expressed full support for the mayors of the municipalities of Zubin Potok and Zveçan, who come from the ranks of the PDK, who have responsibly shown their willingness to serve all citizens, without distinction, but also call for the restoration of normality to enable the implementation of their mandates.

Once again, considering the weight and complexity of the situation as well as the tensions raised in the northern part of the country, the Presidency of the Democratic Party of Kosovo calls on the President and the Prime Minister to urgently convene the Security Council of Kosovo.
