Tensions in the north of Kosovo/ The police and mayors withdraw, the Serbs go on the attack again

Tuesday morning again found Serb protesters in front of the northern municipalities of Leposavi?, Zve?an and Zubin Potok.

The tension was visible in Zveçan, where after the clashes the day before, the security perimeter by KFOR had been expanded.

Despite all the provocations and insults, the situation was peaceful until the dispersal of the protesters at 4:00 pm by order of the Serbian List.

"The protests of the Serbs will continue until the demands are fulfilled, namely the withdrawal of the special units of the Kosovo Police from the municipalities in the north, as well as the Albanian mayors", said Slagjan Miloslavlevi?.

However, the situation was tense in Leposaviq, where the work of journalists was continuously hindered, as they attacked and then demolished their cars and work tools.

Meanwhile, the protesters in Zubin Potok were more restrained, who only opened tents and closed them at 15:00.

Due to the impossibility of going to the municipality, the Albanian mayors of Zubin Potok and Zveçan worked from the community offices in the villages inhabited by Albanians.

The mayor of Zveçan, Ilir Peci, says that the work will be carried out from the office for communities in the village of Kelmend.

"For security reasons, we don't want to be part of that riot. We have decided this, it is part of the municipality", said the mayor of Zveçan, Ilir Peci.

He says that he will return to the official facility of the municipality of Zveçan when it is safe to exercise his duties from there.

The Serbs will continue their protests at 7:30 on Wednesday.
