April and May salary increments for the administration will be received in June, there is no VAT for exporting businesses until March 2024

The Minister of Finance and Economy, Delina Ibrahimaj, declared yesterday after the government meeting that even though the salary increase for the administration was postponed for 1 month, its employees and officials will receive in June the increase for the months of April and May. "Since this reform is not easy, we needed a little more time to issue a clear instruction on how to calculate. I want to say that there is no change in the coefficient approved earlier by the government and there is no change in the approved deadlines. In the next salary, the administration will receive the approved allowances for the months of April and May, and then with the 2024 budget, it will also receive the second allowance", the minister initially declared. She revealed the other decision on the removal of VAT for export businesses until March 2024. "Exporting businesses will not prepay profit tax until March 2024, when the balance sheets of the previous year are closed. This is a measure approved today by the government and it helps businesses to have more liquidity in their activity. At the same time, we will also change an instruction, to further reduce the VAT refund from 30 days to an even shorter time", explained Ibrahimaj.
