The Chief State Commissioner of Elections, Ilirjan Celibashi, says that the government has granted the CEC, an amount of 850 million lek for the electronic implementation for 3 municipalities in the local elections of May 14.
In the "Barometer" show, Celibashi said that the CEC requested that the implementation be carried out in 6 municipalities, but something like this was not possible.
"We have asked the Assembly of Albania through the government, that in these elections, the process of electronic voting and counting should be developed in 6 other municipalities. Due to the lack of budget, this financing was offered.
850 million ALL has been made available to us to implement the pilot project of electronic counting. We asked for more, but this was the amount we were given," he stressed.
