"He risks up to 5 years in prison", the lawyer Gjikondi predicts the fate of Dako and "drops" the bomb in Albanian politics: More arrests will continue

The lawyer, Brizida Gjikondi, during a TV interview, spoke about the arrest of the former head of the Municipality of Durrës, Vangjush Dako.

She said that Dako risks up to 5 years in prison, but according to her, the former mayor of Durrës does not only have those "sins" that have been made public.
According to Gjikondi, Dako is one of the most sinful persons in Albanian politics, while adding that there are other mayors who have abused and are continuing to do so, who may be subject to SPAK

The lawyer said that Dako is among the first and will be followed by many others.

"He has been accused of abuse of office and the sentence goes up to 5 years in prison. I do not think that Dako has only these sins.

I think that Dako is the most sinful in Albanian politics, in the abuse of power. At the moment there are many other mayors who have abused and continue to abuse, who could be subject to SPAK.

I was saddened by the lynching on social networks, with the logic of how Albanians work, that when you are in power, despite the fact that they may know the crimes, they do not manage to tell, but the moment you have taken them down, a public lynching begins, what indicates a not high democratic level of formation of the Albanian public.

I think that Dako is one of the first that many others will follow. I don't think it is only the will of SPAK and its head, but looking at the case of Mediu today and seeing the presence of the American embassy in the court and knowing about the list of non grata, and as far as I can see, the proceedings from SPAK are also spinning there , despite the fact that it can be obtained with a palace permit.

I think we have the interweaving of the will of the internationals and the ally they have found in SPAK, which is Dumani, to give fire to the pursuit of the most corrupt characters in Albanian politics.

If you look at the files that are being received, "Partizani", "Gërdeci" or the family members of "Berisha", I think that SPAK will start to gain a lot of courage, which we have not seen in Berisha's time.

Në lidhje me faktin se ish-ministri i Mbrojtjes në qeverinë e Berishës, Fatmir Mediu i akuzuar për masakrën e “Gërdecit” vazhdon të jetë i lirë, Gjikondi tha se me atë që ndodhi sot, gjërat nuk do të jenë më kështu siç duken.

“Ajo që ka ndodhur sot, përfshirja e familjarëve, paralajmëron se gjërat nuk do të jenë më siç duken. Prezenca e Ambasadës Amerikanë në gjyqe të personazheve të spikatur të politikës, gjithmonë është mbyllur në favor të Ambasadës, që është për turpin tonë, që ne, qytetarët shqiptarë që kanë një qasje idealiste, të kenë shpresa tek Ambasada Amerikane” tha ajo.
