Democratic Party MP Orjola Pampuri told Euronews Albania that the Reestablishment group led the Democratic Party to disaster, as according to her the results of the May 14 local elections were disastrous.

She said that all this is a consequence of not coming out with a single candidate and the non-unification of the Democratic Party.

Pampuri added that at the meeting the Democratic Party led by Alibeaj was more ready for a merger, as they proposed that the democratic candidates run in the elections under the logo of the Democratic Party, but they chose to merge with Meta.

"We reached out to the candidates to run under the Democratic Party logo even though we were against the primaries as they became one-sided. They did not accept the union, they accepted the union with Ilir Meta, they accepted that the democrats they had with them should go with Ilir Meta, they sat and said that we are the majority of you, the minority, they continued with this, and here we are.

We should all come out with a candidate under the logo of the Democratic Party. It was not achieved, they led the Democratic Party to disaster. This result is literally a catastrophic result. Even though they come out and complain, because there were thefts in 2021, we use administration and so on, but with such a deep loss, an analysis is also needed.
