The former Director of Taxes, Brisida Shehaj, says that one of the main reasons for the mass departure of Albanians abroad is the low wages.

Shehaj said that Albanians have the lowest wages, and yet they pay more than Italians or even Americans.

In the "Open" show, Shehaj also told the story of a 26-year-old Albanian woman who left her job in Taxation to work as a cleaner in London.

"She started working in taxes, because my eyes are filled with tears, today she works as a cleaner, babysitter in London. Just for the rent, she didn't run away in a dinghy, she ran away in a truck. Terrible, great 26 year old girl. Youth is running away. Who comes next, they say, I don't care who comes next. You sir, be it left or right, you are there to govern. Salaries are better, we pay more than those in Italy and than those in America. Education and health are essential, look how much money has been spent there. You go to the private sector", said Shehaj.
