"I don't know that lawyers in a legal system defend...", Rama refutes the accusations against Úngjël Agac from the Italian media RAI3: Political barricade in Italy between the left and the right

Prime Minister Edi Rama said in a television interview that many lies were told in the RAI 3 show that harm Albania. Regarding the accusations that Úngjëll Agaçi, as a lawyer in Italy, has protected traffickers and criminals, Rama says that in a democratic system, lawyers do not protect saints.

Question:  You have communicated about the director of RAI. Can we reveal any details, how did he receive your call?

Rama:  Of course, I had no one else to communicate with, and on the other hand, I did not communicate with the director of RAI 3 to complain to him about anything that is the work of journalists, but to let him know that a great deontological and ethical scandal has happened after an unforgivable lie about information sources was conveyed through the screen to all those who followed him in Albania and Italy. They had the answers given and they did not publish any of these and said that they did not answer. This is the climax. The only thing has been this and absolutely nothing else.

Question:  Why is Úngjëll Agaçi the target of this attack in your opinion?

Rama: It is very clear that the attack would not have happened if it were not for a political barricade in Italy between the left and the right on the eve of the election and the blow to the pact made between Italy and Albania is a blow to the Italian government and not Albanian. But the tendency to bring Albania in there as collateral damage and to hint that this is who they made an agreement with, a government where this was the trafficker's lawyer. While I don't know that lawyers in a legal system defend the saints. The legal system in democracy has the figure of the lawyer to protect anyone and a criminal lawyer can never be condemned because he performs a duty towards the democratic system otherwise we return to Enver Hoxha's Albania where the figure of the lawyer was burned like witches in the Middle Ages and disappeared from the constitution. Other serious things have been said, lies, but I'm not going into those. Albania has been hit by the hands of the Italians, but with the goods given by the Albanians here in Tirana. From those Albanians who whenever they are given the opportunity in any space that is created anywhere in the world, they do it with unscrupulousness and with a feeling of enmity towards the country which is projected as enmity towards me and towards the government. This is what haunts Albania like a curse.
