The 35 new mayors that the CEC has certified

The CEC has certified the results of May 14 so far for 35 mayors. SP triumphed with nearly 800 thousand votes on May 14, BF with 500 thousand, PD with only 37 thousand.
The Socialist Party was ranked the first political force in the May 14 elections. With a voter turnout of 38.22%, considered the lowest turnout in post-communist dictatorship elections, the SP managed to get 786,566 votes for the mayoral candidates, followed by the "Together We Win" coalition with 501,402 votes. Meanwhile, the Democratic Party has become the third political force in the country by collecting 36,852 votes. Out of 1,661 mandates of municipal councils, SP has secured the best result, emerging first with 759 new councilors. Out of 61 municipal councils, the socialists were defeated in 3 by their ally PSD (Vaun e Dejës, Pukë and Malësi e Madhe).
