The United States urges the government, political parties and state institutions to implement the ODIHR's recommendations, which include the misuse of state resources at the central and local levels and allegations of vote-buying by all parties. Yesterday, the American Embassy dealt a blow to the government regarding the ODIHR report. A few days ago, the full report was published, in which the government is blackened. But the embassy also raises concerns about the misuse of state institutions. The government has engaged ministers, municipalities and the administration in the elections and this is viewed with concern by the Americans. Also, the embassy notes that there were accusations of buying votes and intimidation of voters. The US calls on all political forces to carefully read the ODIHR report and take action to implement the recommendations.

The US envoy meets Tabak and gives a message about the anti-corruption fight

Meanwhile, the United States of America sent a strong message yesterday, also regarding the fight against corruption. It was the US Chargé d'Affaires, David Wisner, who met yesterday with the president of the Integration Commission, Jorida Tabaku, and the vice president. The democratic MP Tabaku emphasized that it is important that the European integration process be a quality leap for Albanians and that citizens really touch the transformative possibility of this process. The new law approved by the votes of both political parties approved at the end of the last session, this law gives the opportunity to the parliament to be the leader in this process. During the discussion, the need of the Albanian government to strengthen the fight against corruption was emphasized, which is a priority not only for integration but also for having a competitive Albania that absorbs foreign investments from the USA. Tabaku referred to President Biden's statement that corruption is a real danger to the country's national security, stating that today Albania suffers from this danger and the parliament must lead an effort to fight corruption. In addition, the focus was on issues such as cyber security, property issues and respect for the rule of law, which are other important pillars on which the membership process is based.

Nga ana tjetër, ndryshe nga ambasada e SHBA, delegacioni i BE ka qenë më i butë sa i takon raportit të ODIHR. Vëzhguesit e OSBE patën shumë kritika për zgjedhjet e 14 majit. Ndërkohë BE në një reagim shprehet se zgjedhjet ishin të mirëadministruara dhe konkurruese. Një reagim pati dhe nga ambasada e SHBA, e cila në fakt u ndal te problematikat. “Delegacioni i BE-së mirëpret publikimin e raportit përfundimtar të Misionit të Vëzhgimit të Zgjedhjeve të OSBE/ODIHR-it për zgjedhjet vendore në Shqipëri që konfirmoi se zgjedhjet ishin të mirëadministruara dhe konkurruese, por u shënjuan nga akuza për keqpërdorim e burimeve shtetërore dhe blerje votash. Delegacioni i BE-së nxit të gjithë aktorët që të punojnë në mënyrë gjithëpërfshirëse për të zbatuar rekomandimet e reja të Raportit dhe ato që janë ende pezull nga rekomandimet e mëparshme pa humbur kohë”, njoftoi dje delegacioni BE në Tiranë në rrjetet sociale.

Kritikat e OSBE/ODIHR

Sakaq, pak ditë më parë, OSBE/ODIHR ka publikuar raportin e plotë për zgjedhjet e 14 majit. Sipas ODIHR, mjedisi politik vazhdon të jetë i karakterizuar nga polarizimi i thellë nëpërmjet kryetarëve të partive të madhe. Po ashtu, përmenden dhe rastet e dhunës, siç është ai i tritolit në Vaun e Dejës. Po ashtu, ODIHR sheh me shqetësim manovrat e qeverisë duke dhënë bonuse për pensionistë dhe duke rritur rrogat. Kritika ka pasur dhe për "Aktivistin" dhe përdorimin e administratës shtetërore. "Në përgjithësi, mjedisi politik vazhdoi të karakterizohej nga dominimi i elitave politike tradicionale dhe polarizimi i thellë mes partive kryesore, i manifestuar edhe nga një ngërç për reformën zgjedhore në vitet 2021-2023.
