The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, held a meeting in Luxembourg with the European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement, Oliver Varhelyi, during the Council of Foreign Ministers.
Minister Hasani said that, during the meeting, the parties discussed the preparation of Albania for the opening of the basic group chapters of the negotiations.
Hasani emphasized that EU expansion is important for stability and beneficial for all parties.
"Enlargement is important for the security and stability of the European Union, as well as the acceleration of the accession process for the countries of the Western Balkans".
The one-day stay in Luxembourg ended with an audience with the Grand Duke, Henry.
The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, participated yesterday in the meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs in Luxembourg.
During the meeting, Minister Hasani reconfirmed once again Albania's full alignment with the foreign and security policies of the European Union.
