Former president Bamir Topi has stated that the Parliament in Albania is controlled by Prime Minister Edi Rama and according to him, whoever sits in the chair of the president, receives orders from Rama.

Topi made the comments during an interview for News 24, where he said that Rama has guarantees because he has subdued everyone, some through corruption and some through blackmail.

He added that within the PD there are two tendencies, one of Sali Berisha, which according to him creates tension and numerous situations, and the other of Alibeaj, who according to Topi has turned into a Parliament bureaucrat.

"Parliament carries an uncivil spirit. This is very heavy. To see and anticipate the next protest, you have to look back. Protest is a democratic tool, which can be done by an individual. A protest made by the opposition should lead somewhere, but when it turns into some kind of ritual, it creates incredulity. If you ask me today, I will also go back to my past, use all my political position, use facts, etc. You have MPs who do not write once, it is the problem of the lists. The opposition has excluded the political elite. The defects of the opposition are in the opposition itself. I don't know what composition, what substance the opposition, the parliamentary group has. A country that does not have a normal opposition is destined to go where it is going.

Do you think the union is merely superficial, or mechanical? No, these are very deep problems. The problem is what is the point or center of reference of this policy. You see that we are also at the center of an international conjuncture. A politician should not be compromised by someone's name, such as Mr. Berisha. There is not a country in the Balkans that is trying to recycle people who have failed several times. Politics is important to build institutions. When you say politics for the president, that's where the differences start. Politics builds the state and the state helps the citizens.
