The Assembly decides on March 2 the motion with debate on the

The Socialist Party decided that the motion with debate between the opposition and Prime Minister Edi Rama will be held this Thursday in the Parliament of Albania. After many rejections for a motion or interpellation with the majority leader for the "McGonigal" scandal, the socialist deputies agreed to hold this confrontation on March 2 in Parliament. The head of the parliamentary group of the largest party in the country, Taulant Balla, announced that the motion with debate will last the whole day Thursday and each deputy will have the right to speak for 10 minutes. On the other hand, the consideration of the issue of sending to the Constitutional Court or not of removing the mandate of the deputy for the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Olta Xhaçka from the Assembly of Albania for conflict of interest, will be discussed and decided on another date. Another issue that received a firm response from the deputies of the pink headquarters was the rejection of the request of the democratic deputies to exclude for 10 days from the work of the Assembly the Minister of State for Relations with the Parliament, Elisa Spiropali, for using offensive language towards the democratic deputy Edmond Spaho . Thursday's session will be held with a halved opposition as a large number of MPs have been expelled for breaking the law and order in the session in the last 3 weeks. The SP itself admitted last week that it will not expel MPs from the opposition. Motion with 24-hour debate for "McGonigal", Balla: We will tell big truths

After the end of yesterday's meeting of the group of socialist deputies in the Presidency of the Assembly, Taulant Balla informed the media that the plenary session of March 2 has united the demands of all opposition groups for interpellation, motion with debate and questions with Prime Minister Rama regarding with his relations and cooperation with the former head of counterintelligence of the FBI in New York, Charles McGonigal, who is being tried by the American justice for corruption and abuse of office. The senior official of the majority promised that the SP deputies will reveal great truths regarding the "McGonigal" case, which has troubled Albanian politics for almost 1 month. "All the parliamentary groups expect that there will be a discussion in the Assembly of Albania. Each deputy will have 10 minutes of time, according to the request brought. Remember that here we are dealing with the joining of requests, as remember that the request for motion-debate, interpellation and hearing of questions have been joined. I must tell you that the SP group will communicate some big truths to the public", Balla initially declared to the media.

The GJK returned Xhaçka's mandate to the Assembly, Balla: We will decide on another date

Regarding the problem of sending or not by the Assembly to the Constitutional Court the review of the mandate of the deputy Olta Xhaçka, the chairman of the parliamentary group of the SP, Taulant Balla specified that this issue will be discussed on another date and will not be on the agenda of the March 2 session. He was justified by the fact that the decision to return to the Parliament the mandate of deputy Xhaçka was taken on Wednesday and in the Assembly the DP's request to change the agenda came on Friday, so there was not enough time for the Legislation Council to meet for discussion. "The decision of the Constitutional Court for Ms. Xhaçka came on Friday. I don't decide that, but the Council of Legislation does. But, don't forget that the March 2 session was just another item on the agenda", added Balla.

Ironized Spahon, the SP does not agree to expel Spiropal for 10 days from the Assembly

The socialist deputies in the Secretariat for Procedures, Voting and Ethics decided yesterday not to penalize the minister Elisa Spiropali, rejecting the request of 10 democratic deputies Kasëm Mahmutaj, Albana Vokshi, Isuf Çelaj, Luan Baçi, Tritan Shehu, Ina Zhupa, Kastriot Piroli, Gazment Bardhi, Eralda Bano and Petrit Doda, which had as its object the exclusion for 10 days of Spiropali from the works of the Assembly for using offensive language towards the deputy currently expelled from the Parliament, Edmond Spaho. In the last plenary session, Spiropali mocked the opposition's whistle-blowing protests in the Parliament and the expulsion of Spaho after blowing the whistle for 6 hours before 2 weeks in the Assembly. "First a minute of silence for Edmond Spaho who fell to the ethics commission as a true revolutionary.

5 PD MPs requested a change in the agenda for the March 2 plenary session

On Friday, the 5 PD deputies Enkelejd Alibeaj, Gazment Bardhi, Dhurata Çupi, Saimir Korreshi and Greta Bardeli asked the Speaker of the Assembly, Lindita Nikolla, to convene the Council of Legislation to decide on the agenda for March 2 also the review of the mandate of the deputy for the minister Olta Xhaçka. On Wednesday, the Constitutional Court approved the request of the official Democratic Party for Xhaçka's case to be re-examined in the Assembly and overturned that of the Re-establishment Group, which insisted that the Constitutional Court immediately decide on the removal of the deputy's mandate. The minister is accused of being in an open conflict of interest after she influenced the government to allow her husband to receive the status of a strategic investor in Himare. On the other hand, the opposition accuses Prime Minister Edi Rama of having bribed the former FBI official.
