The blocking of EU membership negotiations for Albania and Northern Macedonia has been the focus of today's "Open" show on News24.

Lawyer Kreshnik Spahiu has an answer to this refusal, which according to him is related to racism against Albanians and being pro-American both in Kosovo and in Albania.

According to him, the EU would not have scruples to say that we do not accept Albania that has a corrupt state and government, but that it is deeper. He asks "will the EU want to have some American wedges to influence European decision-making".

Meanwhile, analyst Artur Zheji is against this logic, which he calls a great absurdity. He stated that this is the best advocacy for the government and that there is no more pro-American than Europe today.

Kreshnik Spahiu: We all share as a panel the same opinion that the Bulgarian veto is a pretext. The question is whether it is a decision-making of Bulgaria, or there is a decision-making behind the scenes. So, we are dealing with a Bulgarian decision, is it a Russian push, is it the EU itself or is it the US.

What is the real reason that the EU welcomes this Bulgarian veto?
The EU has this to do with the Albanian people, so we are dealing with a racism against the Albanians of Albania, with an anti-Albanian view, or we are dealing with something that is related only to the Rama government.

The EU would not be scrupulous to say that we do not accept Albania as having a corrupt state and government. I think the causes are deeper. In recent months, 5 polls have been published in several European countries, Austria, France, Portugal, Spain, Germany, the citizens of these massively express that they do not want Albanians to be part of the EU. One thing is clear, there is clearly racism openly towards Albanians. The EU has welcomed millions of migrants from Syria, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, African countries and their citizens get citizenship, while lying to Kosovo every day. I mean openly is why they have a complicated decision making. They do not want the Bulgarian problem to increase sixfold. What happens if these Albanian worlds veto, if these 4 Albanian worlds are under American influence. Would the EU want to have some American wedges to influence European decision-making? I allude that after the Bulgarian veto there is an unspoken reason which Europeans do not hesitate to tell us. They have nothing to say about corruption.

Ne jemi një popull i privilegjuar në Europë, nuk jemi një popull i persekutuar në Europë. Shqiptarët kanë gjetur vendin në gjithë botën, kanë vende kyçe. Kjo është avokatia më e mirë për qeverinë. Të na lënë ne jashtë Europës se jemi proamerikanë është një absurd i madh. Nuk ka më proamerikan se Europa sot me përjashtim të disa shpejtësive që mund të ketë Parisi, po nuk ka më proamerikan se Anglia, se Gjermania, se Polonia, se Lituania, se Çekia. Sot ka njëkohësi amerikane si asnjëherë tjetër, shkak është lufta e Ukrainës. Akuzohen nga opozitat e vendeve të tyre si zara të Amerikës dhe nuk e kanë fare problem. Dhe në Itali është i njëjti debat. Draghi akuzohet se po i shërben Amerikës më shumë se Italisë. Ti nuk mund ta thuash këtë gjë se ne po lihemi jashtë se jemi proamerikën, është e papranueshme në logjikë. Duhet të japësh prova.

Spahiu: Within the last 2 years, we have millions of Africans, Arabs, Afghans, Iraqis who receive citizenship and are admitted to the EU, while thousands of Kosovo Albanians are lied to every year. I left Albania because you would say that it advocates for these.
