The member of the National Council of the Democratic Party was invited this Thursday to Euronews Albania where she commented on the public return of Lulzim Basha.
She said that Basha has never left the Democratic Party despite temporarily withdrawing from the position as its chairman.
Asked how the return of Basha differs from that of Berisha, Karabina said that Basha has the moral card to return as he has never declared that he would withdraw from politics, she also stated that Basha has a mission which she believes he will I take it to the end.
"Mr. Berisha made a statement in 2013 that he was withdrawing, he even said from politics, however, he was a member of the Democratic Party, quite active. Mr. Basha said he is not retiring, he said "I am retiring temporarily and I will be a contributor and helper in the further developments of the Democratic Party".
Today, he actually has this moral card and has the responsibility because he started, Mr. Basha started this journey of leading the Democratic Party, as a Euro-Atlantic party and detached from the shadows of the past which has held us hostage until now and he has this mission.
Mr. Basha has returned to the public in the meetings he is holding, he may be a candidate for the race at the head of the Democratic Party. I will support, because I think that I will take the mission that has started to the end", said Mirela Karabina.
