A year without President Bujar Nishani

Today, May 28, 2023, marks one year since the death of President Bujar Nishani.

President Nishani was the example of a model family; of the responsible citizen, the honest and patriotic statesman, the wise and prudent politician, modest and hardworking, responsible and forward-looking in the name of democracy and prosperity, who represented Albania and our nation in the most dignified way.

Throughout his career, Mr. Nishani showed himself to be a true servant of Albania. Although he was the youngest President at the age of 45, in the years of the presidency 2007-2012, with his prudence and wisdom, he raised the values ??of the institution of the President of the Republic to a higher level. In my humble opinion, he has represented the best President of Albania in these 33 years of transition.

He knew how to show the maximum attention to Kosovo and gave valuable support for the recognition of Kosovo and the support of its causes in the international arena.

Today, Albanians, especially the democrats, remember President Nishani as a personality with rare values, as a statesman with integrity, vision and consistency in protecting the values ??of democracy.

With his death a year ago, the Democratic Party lost one of its most important figures, a prudent and dedicated politician, who, even in the last month of his life, tried honestly and without hesitation to the good of DP and democracy.

President Bujar Nishan misses his family, the country, democracy and especially the Democratic Party, in these difficult times that it is going through. If this wise politician were still alive, his contribution to the unification of the democrats would have been primary.
