Analyst Fatos Lubonja has stated that there is no democracy in Albania, but the regime of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Lubonja made the comments while he was invited to the show "Open" on News 24, where he said that Rama has threatened the citizens not to participate in the local elections on May 14.
He brought to attention the case of the arrest of the elected mayor of Himara, Fredi Beleri, as well as the decision on the DP logo, to show that the May 14 elections were not free.
"The majority wins 52 out of 61 municipalities, it cannot be a priori democracy. In a country where prisons vote 100% for the government, there is no democracy, in a country where the prime minister says that if you vote for the opposition, you will not get any money, there is no democracy. Here where is democracy, but regime. In a country where justice is captured and used, like the Beleri case, or the seal of the DP, there are many arguments.
There are no free elections, and if there weren't, we can't talk about who lost. We continue to act as if we are in a democracy. We hold this debate here and say whoever loses must go. Whoever loses runs away, these are the rules of democracy. While in a country where the opposition is led by the regime, there is no need to discuss who will run away. Undoubtedly, the opposition has 1001 problems, but let's not forget the other wing.

You can't wait for a savior to come and save us. We cannot wait for a good man, because politics is not a good man. Politics is a war of interests.
