NAME/ Celibashi did not register the DP in the elections, the relator is appointed to examine the complaint in the KAS

The lot was cast today for the appointment of the relator for the appeal of the Alibeaj group to KAS.
The results of the lottery determined the relator of the appeal filed by DP, KAS member Koli Bele.
After the CEC's decision not to register the Democratic Party for the local elections, the representative of Alibeaj, Indrit Sefa, announced the filing of the complaint with the KAS.
Sefa considered Celibashi's decision a political decision-making and not based on the law.
"PDSH appeals to KAS the decision of the State Election Commissioner, who politically decided not to register the Democratic Party of Albania, in violation of the law, as an electoral subject in the local elections of May 14", the announcement states.
The appeal seeks the annulment of decision no. 172, dated 14.03.2023 of the State Election Commissioner "On the examination of the request of the "Democratic Party" for registration as an electoral subject for the elections for local government bodies dated 14.05.2023".
Likewise, the registration as an electoral subject of the "Democratic Party of Albania" is required according to request no. 27, dated 05.03.2023 and its accompanying documentation, and recorded in the CEC on 06.03.2023 with No. 1337 Prot presented on behalf of the Democratic Party by representative Indrit Sefa.
