"He loves the stamp at all costs", the well-known journalist explains the strong reason why Basha should take the leadership of the DP

The editor-in-chief of the Albanian newspaper Erl Murati, during a television interview, commented on the political situation in the country, focusing on the latest developments within the DP.

He stated that the return of Lulzim Basha to take the presidency of the Democratic Party was an expected scenario, because after his resignation it was said that the elections would be held after the local elections of 2023.

According to him, the debates that are taking place within the DP are pointless, as long as none of the members have the ambition to be president, while on the other hand, Berisha is "the main opposition factor in the country".

"It was expected that Lulzim Basha would return for the presidency of the Democratic Party. Since then it was said that the elections would be held after the local elections, so that Basha would return as a savior after the deep defeat. This is a prepared script. I don't see any other personality within the official DP who has ambitions to be president instead of Basha. This was to clear the way for Basha.

As long as they didn't take the seal to Berisha all these months, but they didn't show any personal ambition either, it's better to immediately hand over the seal to Basha since the scenario is known. Basha loves the seal at all costs and it would be good if it were given to him and there would be peace in this small opposition camp. Berisha has shown that he is the main opposition factor. If we talk about the opposition as a whole, from a numerical point of view, Berisha and Basha are like night and day.

Basha has his ambition and only wants to be the leader of a party. Berisha and Basha have legitimacy but are keeping the opposition behind. Berisha and Basha must have the political maturity to solve the crisis of the opposition, as this ship needs a new helmsman. This theater does not need to be extended as Basha goes out to meetings with young people and there are useless discussions in the PD.

Whether we like it or not, oppositionism in this country is represented by Berisha and Berishism. Maybe society will change the political class, but we still have active politicians from the 90s. I do not believe that a mechanical removal of Berisha would unite the opposition. The solution must come through Berisha, but without him.

I do not believe that Lulzim Basha is bought by Rama, these are Berisha's accusations where he has the last word. Basha has made his own political calculations and not only does he get better this way. I am ready to make a bet that if this continues, PSD will emerge as the third force and PD will be the fourth. If the opposition continues on this course of degradation, the loss will be deeper than the year 2023.
