Rama's draft for the Association, comes the official reaction from the government of Kosovo

The Government of Kosovo has responded to the proposal of the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, for the draft statute of the Association of municipalities with a Serbian majority. From the executive they say that they expect official support from Albania as they have already become many mediators.

In the Kosovo executive, they say that the Association is a matter of the functionality of the state of Kosovo and that those who are free in their positions and without any burden will understand Serbia's goal of creating a "Serbian Republic" in Kosovo.

The spokesperson of the Government of Kosovo, Përparim Kryeziu, in an answer to KosovaPress, says that the Serbian intention for the Association can be seen even recently with the non-paper of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Serbia where it talks about the "Serbian World".

On the other hand, the proposal of the Association's draft statute by the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, without consultation with the Kosovar institutions, is seen more as an attempt for his protagonism, by political analysts in Kosovo and Albania.

The political analyst, Albinot Maloku, tells KosovaPress that this initiative of Prime Minister Rama would be considered assistance to the Government of Kosovo, if the situation were different and not in the wake of Kosovo-Serbia tensions.

He asks Albania to play a greater role in supporting Kosovo in the dialogue with Serbia.

Even the political analyst from Albania, Ben Andoni, tells KosovaPress that the way this draft statute for the Association of Serb-majority municipalities in Kosovo has been brought to the public shows Rama's protagonism in this process, rather than a great contribution to Kosovo.

The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, announced this week that he has submitted a draft of the Association to the German Chancellor, Olaf Scholz, and the French President, Emmanuel Macron. This document, based on reports on Friday, has been evaluated as serious by the European Union.
