"Every decision taken without their consensus is..."/ Xixho shows the steps that must be followed to keep young doctors in Albania
Written by SOT.COM.AL 15 Maj 2024
The Vice President of the Freedom Party, Erisa Xixho, through a post on her account on the social network "Facebook", said that yesterday a hearing was held with students of the University of Medicine with the Parliamentary Club for Young People and the Ministry of Education and Health.
Xixho writes in her post that only by guaranteeing working conditions, dignified wages and equal treatment, we can keep young doctors in Albania.
Gixho's full post:
Yesterday we held a hearing with students of the University of Medicine with the Parliamentary Club for Youth and the Ministry of Education and Health.
As the president of this club, I gladly accepted their request to discuss the education and health systems as well as forced labor for medical students.
I consider it essential that their voice be heard and that they become parties to any discussion related to their problems.
The removal of white shirts cannot be prevented by the laws and restrictions imposed by the government.
Only by guaranteeing working conditions, dignified wages and equal treatment, we can keep young doctors in Albania.
We have a law submitted by the government for public consultation and we are at the right moment to conduct this hearing. Students have asked for inclusiveness in this process.
The purpose of the law "On the Special Treatment of Students who follow the integrated study program of the second cycle of General Medicine in public institutions of higher education", as the students themselves said, should be the motivation for the workplace and not the obligation by pledging diplomas.
They should be heard and included, not ignored and despised. Any decision taken without their consensus is arbitrary and to the detriment of tomorrow's society!
