The Population and Housing Census, warns Luigi Soreca: Of great importance for the integration process

The EU ambassador in our country, Luigi Soreca, has stated that the Population and Housing Census is important for the negotiations for Albania's membership.

He emphasized that Albania faces specific demographic challenges in the region, so it must have reliable statistical information.

Ambassador Soreca stated that the European Union has given 4.8 million euros in grants to INSTAT for counting the entire population and housing in the country, and, according to him, this should be done in accordance with the standards of the Union.

Luigi Soreca: "It is an honor and a privilege to return to Albania at this special moment for the country. President Von Der Leyen just finished her speech and said how important is the moment of EU enlargement and that there is no need to change the treaty, but to take the countries into consideration.

Lessons learned from the previous census have served as lessons for INSTAT to include ethnic minorities, this will lead to improved rights in line with EU standards.
